Whenever a new project is created, it starts with a Base Layer which contains the associated base textures of the object that the user can bring from their external 3D package of choice. This ultimately translates into the number of “channels” that allow for quick manipulation of mixes.

Stack layers can then be mixed on top with the Base layer in order to make the final Mix.

A surface, Megascans 3D asset, a custom model can be textured or the Mixer’s Shader Ball can be used to preview new, existing or custom mixes as well.

The Base layers in Mixer contains the channels where the base textures for your project requirements are plugged in and consists of the following slots for the current version.

  • Albedo
  • Metalness
  • Roughness
  • Displacement
  • Normals
  • Occlusion
  • Curvature
  • Material ID

You can change their properties according to your requirements by expanding the channel sections.
